What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment is a form of recreation or distraction that provides enjoyment or diversion to an audience. Often entertainment focuses on themes such as humor, suspense, drama, or spectacle. The genres of film, books, music, and live performance can be considered forms of entertainment.

The word derives from the Latin inter tenere, meaning “to hold inside.” It is related to the Indo-European root ten, which means “stretch.” Entertaiment can also be used to refer to a restaurant that serves food and drinks. Some restaurants offer a wide variety of entertainment, including concerts and other events. Entertaiment may also refer to a business that produces and distributes films, music, and other media.
