Articles about Entertaiment

From the Middle French entretenir to hold inside, entertain, the word entertainment has come to mean amusement and distraction. A clown at a birthday party, a Broadway show, a stadium rock concert, your friends fighting over the last potato chip–these are all forms of entertainment. The term has become so pervasive and well established that it is hard to imagine that it has not always existed, but the old forms of entertainment continue to adapt to new media as they evolve into ever more complex structures. Entertainment is a broad category of activity that includes visual, auditory, and tactile experiences.
